That Reminds Me...
Jambo!
First off I will answer the question I posted yesterday. The first time the scripture went out of Israel it was to Ethiopia in Africa. Fun fact for the day.
This morning we left our hotel Nuru Palace and made a stop back at Bethesda. What a good decision it was for us to stop again! We were shown around their location, saw the progress on their guest house, their kitchen, school room and an acrobatic show. The school room used to be a chicken coop so you can imagine what that was like. Faith is an 11 year old girl who has never attended school. This is her first experience at a school. The older boys then performed the acrobatic show for us. They were very talented!
Pictures are something the children loved to have taken and loved to look at. I took a picture with some of them and they wanted to see it on my camera so I showed them. As they were looking through the pictures, they saw pictures of the apartment I had recently moved in to and one young man said, "You're home?" It was neat to see that they were interested in me and my life and did not even seem to care that they changed from looking at their pictures to mine.
The children are so polite and thankful! The moment we arrived they came to greet us by shaking our hands. When we left, all the children came to the bus with us to wave good bye to us. It was touching to see their excitement!
On the bus today our devotion was Ephesians 4:1-7. This passage reminds us that we are all one in Christ. Christ's love compels us and leads us to experience a love we never knew could exist. We are all prepared to have our heart broken in a geat way. How can one's heart break in a great way you may ask? It will be great because our compassion for these children will be so great, and our love for them that we don't even know, will continue to grow and we will feel the love of Christ surround not only us, but the children as well.
A few things I noticed on our journey today was that they have extremely red soil. People are walking on the sides of the road all the time. We could be in the middle of the country and there would be men, women, young and old, children and anyone else walking and selling various items. These people typically waved at us and were very smiley.
Today was an extremely long day on the bus. The highlight of the bus ride was a stop at the equator. The altitude at the equator was 9,100 feet. We were able to take a group picture at the sign here. We had lunch at the Hotel Comfy in Eldorat. After lunch, we continued on the road to our place tonight. For the next three nights we will be staying at Kapenguria Bible College in Kapenguria. Some of the roads are extremely bumpy and filled with pot holes. The roads remind me of parts of the Alaskan Highway.
This location reminds me a lot of Lutheran Island Camp. It has various cabins and places for people to stay. The scenery is beautiful! I can't wait to walk around the property more and explore. Our cabin has four bedrooms, a kitchen and living room area. There is no internet here but, if we go to the top of the hill on the property we can pick up the wi-fi from the next place over. The electricity has gone off a few times, but has thankfully it has come back on relatively quickly.
The title of this post comes from the various things that occurred or I saw today that reminded me of places and events back home (as I have stated in the post).
Tomorrow we will visit our first Project 24 site. We will meet with the Bishop of the Diosces and he will let us know what our schedule is. I would like to be able to spend as much time with the children as possible. I am looking forward to the day.

Wow...another day of adventures! It sounds like you are having wonderful experiences!
