What's Next?

As I sit here today pondering this question, "What's next?"it is a sunny 47 degrees outside. Oh wait, there is a "-" sign in front of that, -47 wind chill! I guess the 47 degrees in Texas wasn't so bad after all! Before I get to that, let me back up. I graduated from Northern State University Magna Cum Laude (with a GPA of 3.7 or above) on December 14. It was nice to have my immediate family there as well as few people at a reception. The following week, I was fortunate to sub at Simmons Elementary in the 4th grade in Aberdeen. The end of that week, we had my cousins Emma and Elsa at our house in Appleton. What fun they were to have around! Then we had the Anderson Christmas at our home, Rhoda Christmas in Willmar, Christmas with our immediate family, Beth (Nathan's girlfriend) and Brandon (my boyfriend) after the Christmas Even candlelight service, Christmas in Groton, SD with Brandon's family, and then my family headed to Texas! Busy week and a half!

My family and I traveled to South Padre Island, Texas celebrating my graduation. We left on Dec. 26 and drove the 23 hours in two days. On the way down we stopped to visit the Alamo in San Antonio, as neither my brother or I remembered it very well from previous visits. The first day in South Padre Island it was a little chilly but manageable. We found lots of yummy restaurants and shops to occupy our time. The second day it was gorgeous! I spent lots of time on the beach collecting tiny shells that we can hopefully make some Christmas ornaments out of. Spending time in the hot tubs was also something mom and I enjoyed doing. We spend a lot of time doing "nothing". This can be hard for my family as we like to go, go, go! Due to the terrible wind, rain and cold (yeah 50 was terrible!) we left South Padre Island a day early. This worked out great because we got to spend some more time in San Antonio! We took the riverboat ride along the Riverwalk at night and stayed right downtown. Little did we know there was a bowl game going on at the Alamo Dome that night as well so it was a little crazy!

I'm now back in Aberdeen looking at jobs for the 2014-2015 school year. I am surprised at how many are already posted! Unfortunately many of them are not full time or on the other side of South Dakota. If you hear of any on this side of the state or in Minnesota please let me know :) In the meantime, I will hopefully be subbing here in Aberdeen. Next Monday and Tuesday I will be meeting the lady I am taking over for in Sioux Falls while she is on maternity leave. I'm excited to see the two schools I will be in, as well as meeting the students and the staff!

Thirty-One is also keeping me busy. I currently have one party open online, feel free to shop! Go to mythirtyone.com/nicholea and click on "My Parties" and "Shop Now" next to the party that is listed. I am also getting ready to participate in my first vendor show. I will be having a booth at the Farm & Home Show at Lac qui Parle Valley Saturday and Sunday February 8-9. Stop by to check out all of the great products we have!

Until next time..."Always Keep a Song in Your Heart"
