Busy Summer

Adjusting back to the real world after arriving home from Kenya, Africa wasn't too terrible. I returned to Aberdeen, SD and continued my job working as a cashier at Walmart. That job has kept me pretty busy! When I am not working, I like to play games with friends, go swimming at a local lake, play piano, watch my favorite TV show The Bachelorette (which had the season finale last night and it ended perfectly!), and spending time with family when I am home.

This week I am currently at home in Minnesota. I was supposed to be a counselor at the Senior High Week of Rushmore Music Camp in Keystone, SD, but a day before I was scheduled to leave, I received a call saying the numbers for the girl campers were down and that I was not needed. This was a total bummer!! I was packed and loaded and ready to go. But the plus side is I get to spend some time with my family at home. This past Saturday we went to the quilt auction at Lutheran Island Camp, where I was able to reconnect with some of my Africa family. It was great to see them again! We also had my two little cousins, Emma and Elsa, with us so they kept my brother and I busy! Sunday some of my extended family came to our house for the day. It's good to see them again! Yesterday we made a quick trip to Sioux Falls to pick up a new camera after the one I had got a dot on the screen while on the safari in Africa. Tonight I think we are probably headed to see a movie and then tomorrow I am going back to Aberdeen.

Traveling to both China and Africa this summer has been quite the experience! It's a good thing I am in the USA right now with everything going on with different US Embassy's! My travels have reminded me how important it is to stay true to your faith. The world is a huge place with lots of diversity, but if you stay true to what you believe, everything will be alright.

Hakuna Matata for now :)
